This is the moment that I've been waiting for because once again I will get to see my ever dearest friends namely Rinilgin Oplas(the ex-buntis and now an amazing virgin), Joanna Grace Malvas(the proud member of SMP), Cherry Boctoto(the lagare instructor/business woman), Kristian del Rosario(the humble Banana Plantation Heiress), Maricel Timbal(the 100% attendance frontrunner) and Mark Van Buladaco(the beauty queen historian). By the way may nameis Zirdge and we belong to the old curriculum of MIT in UIC and this is how we rock the world of IT.
5:00 am - Wake-up Sleepy Head
OMG! I didn't plans to wake up this late. One of the main reasons on why I almost hated myself is beacuse I went home late due to my 9pm class every Friday. But as promised I will never ever do it again. Although I felt to tired but the excitement always perks up my day to move on and face the new challenges of the day.
9:00 am The Late Entrance
I stepped out from the tricycle infornt of the 2nd gate of the UIC Campus exactly 9:00am knowing that my class starts at 8:00am. As the divah of "no pressure" I just walk inside the campus to look for my classroom with poise and confidence. After confirming that my class is inside the Darkroom, I stepped-in and I was 5 minutes late(Gerald Cagape will tease me if he reads this part-hahaha!). I just gave everyone my virginal smile and said HI! to RSG(Randy S. Gamboa-my teacher). I sat down with my friends while cathing my breath and answered the equation on the board then sumbitted my paper. This is by the way my IT Seminar class and they already started introducing themselves to the class and shared there expectations with the teacher and the subject. My turn is finally here, as a punishement I was asked to do an act to entertan the class because I was late but before that I introduced myself first and told them that my purpose in enrolling to this subject is bond with my friends because this is supposed to be the last time taht we will meet in class and I expect more chaleges from RSG. And so I started my thing by asking everyone to stand-up, clap our hands and sing happy birthday three times(such a clever move). And then we planned on what will happen on our IT seminar and we decided to attend to the ACM Seminar in Dela Salle University at Calumbang, Laguna on march 1 -3, 2012.
11:00 am Let's Analyze and be Organize
Our Organizational Analysis class with RSG should start at 10:00am but due to thorough discussion with our IT seminar class we started late. Moving on with OA(Organizational Analysis), we started by laying out the activities of the class, the presentations and the final project. RSG begun discussing the first out of 10 topics which is about Strategic Planning Model. This is where we reviewed the ABCDE(Assessment, Baseline, Components, Down to Specifics and Evaluate) model and SWOT(Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Trends) analysis. But the most interesting of that day was differentiating a manager and a leader. Let us start this session by defining the two. Accordng to www.m-w.com , a manager is a person who directs a team while a leader is a person who has commanding authority or influence. So how are we going to classify our teachers? Are they managers or leaders?
In a classroom, teachers are the ones who will feed information to the students but can a teacher directs his students? By nature no one can direct a human being on what he really wants in his life but instead he will just look for the ooptions on what fits his needs and goals. That is why teachers must set or project good values inside the classroom for the student will be influenced by them. Therefore, our teachers are merely leaders so this means that we shuld be very careful on what messages we are going to broadcast to our dear students.
In conductng a strategic plan it is also a beneficial factor on how the members of the organization are getting involved with the decision making. On today's paradigm it is no longer considered as an effective way of doing plans within the administrators only because everyone has the access to information that is why everyone has the power to get involved. In this manner the output is based not only to personal concerns but for the welfare of everybody. The creation of Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives becomes the landmark of each organization on how they will project themselves and where are they leading to. Now this leaves me of a great task on reviewing the VMGO of my school, Hmmmp!
1:00pm Lunch to the Max
To end our half day and to ease our rumbling stomachs we quickly rushed to our favorite carinderia to order our lunch. Nothing compares a sumptious lunch with a lot of chitchat with friends.
3:00pm End of the Day and Start of the Relaxation
After our Data Warehousing class we decided to go out from school since we don't have a class for our Advance E-Commerce. To have a new look I had a haircut and hotoil which influenced Cherry Boctoto to have her eyebrow trimmed and Joanna Grace Malvas to have her haircut. Then after that we ate at Al's and Robz Dinner while playing Monopoly for the climbers....hahahaha.
I'm looking forward for out next class this January 2012 with new discussions and same fun.
